Kindergarten teachers will also utilize the week of August 1-7 to conduct the academic portions of the KRA testing with a smaller group of students each day. Parents/guardians will be contacted by their children’s teachers to schedule an appointment time and date for testing.

Instruction begins daily at 7:30 a.m. for all grade levels. Students should arrive on campus no earlier than 6:50 a.m. and no later than 7:30 a.m. to avoid being tardy. Chromebooks will be used for the 2024-2025 school year. Students are encouraged to bring charged laptops to school on a daily basis. Parents are reminded to not drop students off before 6:50 a.m. For student’s safety, parents are reminded not to drop their child off in the grassy area across the street from the school on Fulton Street. During pick-up, all car riders will be dismissed through the gate under the breezeway using their car number. Each student will be provided with numbered car tags and book bag tags. Parents arriving without a car tag number will be asked to go into the office to have their credentials verified. Parents will not be allowed to walk up to the car pick up gate to retrieve students, and students will not be permitted to cross Fulton street to walk to their rides, for safety is our number one priority.  Please ensure your student is picked up no later than 2:45pm.

How can my child get a district-issued Chromebook?
• Sumter School District’s One-to-Global initiative provides a technology device for each student in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade.
• Students and parents without a district-issued Chromebook may check one out during scheduled dates at their child’s home school.
• Students who are having issues with technology will be provided with avenues to contact the school media specialist or Chromebook manager for technical support. This will include issues with internet, applications, software, and technology tools.
